dubroWORKS is comprised of principal Julie Du Brow and strategic partners brought in on a case-by-case basis.
Julie Du Brow Principal
In 2002, after 15 years as an entertainment executive in marketing, operations, artist management, production and distribution, Julie redirected her energy to create a Communications firm that pays attention to every part of a client’s company. She believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to best messaging practices and works closely with each client to determine which method(s) will work best for them…from traditional to emerging opportunities.
Julie has created successful local, regional and international media campaigns for clients in sustainability / the environment, architecture and interior design, food, film, mobile entertainment, music and the visual arts. She has worked with products, projects, and trade shows, with startups and established companies.
Coming to PR from marketing and artist management, she knows how all the pieces must work together in messaging to ensure a unified approach, inside and outside the company.
Individualized plans, personal attention, consistent communication, follow-through, integrity, and flexibility to anticipate and/or react to current conditions are signature practices of dubroWORKS.
She has garnered millions of media impressions for her clients across the media spectrum: top market dailies (LATimes, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune), wire services (AP, Reuters, Bloomberg), broadcast (CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, NPR, Univision, CNN, CBC), lifestyle magazines (INC., Rolling Stone, Hollywood Reporter, OUT, People, Vanity Fair, Interior Design, Dwell, Modern Luxury publications, Robb Report, ECO Magazine, Architectural Record, GreenHomeBuilder, Popular Mechanics, Chronicle of Philanthropy), and international (Bangkok Post, Hello Bali, and multiple Dubai lifestyle publications). Trade and business publications across numerous sectors including The Hollywood Reporter, LA Business Journal, Construction & Demolition Recycling, Solar Industry, K+BB, Home Accents Today, Furniture/Today. Placements on 100s of websites and blogs include MNN, Voice of America, Treehugger, GreenBiz, KCET, CurbedLA, HuffingtonPost, and EcoFabulous.
Julie was the first Marketing Director for the Mobile Entertainment Forum, Americas Branch. Through marketing + PR efforts she helped connect companies (aggregators, content owners, mobile companies); built MEF membership; established the MEF at trade shows (CTIA, Digital Hollywood); and helped establish the Americas Chair as a top media “go to” person in the U.S.
At the Left Bank Organization, a top artist management company, Julie co-managed various platinum artists (including Mötley Crüe, Deana Carter, Duran Duran), and then launched and ran multiple departments for LBO’s emerging independent label Beyond Music.
Julie’s brief stint in film was as Associate Producer on the Oscar-nominated documentary, Speaking in Strings (1999). [She ducked back in recently, earning a Researcher credit on the documentary Citizen Hearst (2013).]
As Director of Operations for Capitol Records, she determined the financial, physical and time feasibility of new releases and ongoing inventory, and worked to balance the goals and needs of marketing, promotion and sales.
Julie was one of four founding editors of U. The National College Newspaper, a commercial endeavor distributed through universities across the U.S., with over 1.4 million circulation. She graduated from U.C.L.A. with honors, earning a B.A. in Communications/Mass Media.
